Will and I had an excellent Thanksgiving, full of food, the Macy’s Parade, a Friends marathon, a nap, a Simpsons Marathon and some Big Bang Theory on the side. And, in the midst of all that, I also wrote nearly 3,000 words yesterday which allowed me to cross the NaNoWriMo finish line with a total of 50,440 words.

Yay!

This is the earliest I’ve made it to 50k. In 2013 I completed on November 28, so I managed to get it done a day earlier this year. I’m very happy about this since I’ve got some big plans in 2015 and the more words I can generate per-day, the more likely the plans will come to fruition.

Even with the 50,000 words, which brings the novel up to nearly 90,000 words total, Hat Trick 3 isn’t done yet. There are still scenes to write, plus, as I mentioned at the 25k mark, there are many things to fix. The goal is to have a first draft completed by the end of December so it can get into the hands of beta readers.  I like what I’ve written so far, now the story needs to finish and the fixes need to be made.

Meanwhile, I’ll be writing over the next couple days, looking to maintain the same pace, and I’ll do a final validate on November 30 to log exactly the number of words I’ve done this month.

Congrats to the others who’ve already validated their NaNoWriMo projects. To those still going, keep writing! There’s still plenty of time and even if you don’t finish on November 30, keep going until  you do finish!
