Congratulations to Misty Copeland on her promotion to principal dancer with American Ballet Theater. The promotion, which came yesterday, makes her the first African-American woman to be named a principal in ABT’s 75 year history. We’ve seen her dance a few times with ABT, most recently this year during Othello. She is always a joy to watch. Here’s a beautiful solo clip, featuring choreography by ABT’s Marcelo Gomes.
