Each year at this time Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS does a huge round of fund raising as part of the Gypsy of the Year competition. This is when Broadway, off-Broadway and touring shows get creative to help fill BC/EFA’s coffers to support their critical work.
The fund raising benefits The AIDS INITIATIVE; The Phyllis Newman WOMEN’S HEALTH INITIATIVE; The Al Hirschfeld FREE HEALTH CLINIC and much more at The Actors Fund – an employee assistance program for the entire entertainment industry. In addition, BC/EFA also makes grants to over 400 AIDS and family service organizations across the country – supporting food banks, health clinics and housing programs across the country.
