It’s been another exciting NHL playoff season for me as my two favorite teams advanced and advanced to come together again in the Stanley Cup finals.
For the past two weeks, the Detroit Red Wings and Pittsburgh Penguins have battled it out. Tonight it game down to Game 7. Yes, I wanted to see Detroit raise [...]

Stanley Cup 2008: Red Wings Bring It Home

Fantastic game tonight. Pittsburgh gave Detroit a run for their money, but Detroit brought it home with a 3-2 game. It’s been a thrilling run for the Cup this season. I can’t believe how lucky I was to have my two favorite teams in the finals and for my hometown team to take the cup!

The Stanley Cup was out of its case being polished and then the Pittsburgh Penguins struck back!
Around 5 minutes to go in the third the Detroit Red Wings pulled ahead in game 5. Then with 35 seconds to go, the Penguins got one past goalie Chris Osgood to tie up the game.

Red Wings: 2 down, 2 to go

in Hockey

I had no idea the Red Wings/Penguins series would be such a blow out. The Penguins are down by two games, which I did expect because stats show the Red Wings usually win at home. What’s surprsing is that both games were shutouts: 4-0 on Saturday and 3-0 tonight. The series moves to Pittsburgh on Wednesday and Saturday [...]

This afternoon in the Eastern Conference game 5, Pittsburgh scored a definitive 6-0 win [...]

Very exciting! Tonight Detroit can sweep the Western Conference final series against Dallas. They’ve looked fantastic in the first three games and tonight could finish it. Then, tomorrow night, Pittsburgh can sweep against Philadelphia in the Eastern Conference. They Penguins have also looked great… in fact, their defensive game last night was incredible to watch. Stanley Cup 2008: Conference Finals

in Hockey

I haven’t been this excited about conference finals in a few years now. My top two teams have made it through: Pittsburgh in the East and Detroit in the West. Few things hockey could make me happier than to see those two in the finals in a couple of weeks. The hockey action gets started [...]

Red Wings Sweep Avs

in Hockey

What a great night of hockey last night. It was worth staying up late again (I did it Tuesday too) to watch the Red Wings completely pummel the Colorado Avalanche. A 1-1 score in the first period became an 8-2 Detroit win by the end of the third. The Red Wings were in top form [...]
