Chelsea Challenge 2011

Chelsea Challenge 2011 was this past weekend and my participation marked my tenth time to play in the annual New York City Gay Hockey Association tournament. This was also my third year playing with the Hartford Whalers in the recreational division. Needless to say it was a great weekend. Hartford played all three of it’s [...]

Putting the “Challenge” in Chelsea Challenge

This weekend was the 10th Chelsea Challenge, organized and presented by the New York City Gay Hockey Association, and it was my 9th to play (I wasn’t playing hockey when the tourney started in 2000). Wintery Dreams: Pond Hockey

I’ve been hearing about the film Pond Hockey on and off for the past couple months and finally watched the trailer today. The documentary looks amazing and I’m putting the DVD on my Christmas list. I’ve only played outside a few times in my hockey career. The Ordinals occasionally practiced/scrimmaged up at Lasker and that [...]

Ordinals Open Season with 8-0 Victory

The Ordinals had a fantastic opening night with an 8-0 victory against the Moose. It’s been more than a season since we’ve accomplished a shutout, so this was a sweet way to open the season. We accomplished this with a short bench of just 11 too, and we spread the scoring out pretty well too. [...]
