Farewell “Ace of Cakes”

This past Thursday, one of my favorite shows went off into the sunset. I’ve loved Ace of Cakes since it premiered on Food Network August 17, 2006. Before that, Chef Duff Goldman had appeared on a number of Food Network Challenges showing off his extreme cakes with varying success. No matter what happened in the [...]

Barefoot Contessa in Person

I got to meet Ina Garten, the Barefoot Contessa, for a minute today. Ina was at Borders at the Time Warner Center during lunch today to sign her new book, How Easy Is That? I went to get a book signed since Will and I watch her show and eat her recipies all the time [...]

Will Someone Please Tell Brian Boitano That It’s 2009

It was rainy this morning, but right around noon it became partly cloudy, the fog broke and the temperature is a great 67 degrees. Absolutely fantastic! Patriot Day?: Tuesday was the sixth anniversary of 9/11. That afternoon, [...]

It’s Harry Potter Saturday!

759 Pages to Go: I, like many, got my copy of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows today. I’ll be reading it over the next couple weeks. I wish I could read faster, and avoid any spoilers that may come my way but it is the best I can do with my overall time these [...]

Daytime TV

So I was flipping the channels this afternoon when I stopped on Ovation “the arts channel” where they were showing Jonathan Dove’s Flight, an opera set in an airport. I hate flying, airports and opera. Wanna guess how long I waited untill I turned the channel back to the Food Network?
