The competition portion of So You Think You Can Dance season 12 kicked off with a great show Monday night. Christopher Scott choreographed a great group number to open the show, featuring all the street and stage dancers. He also did a great number with a group of street dancers, too. Pharside & Phoenix did a super cool good vs. evil street dance (with Virgil, who I think could win the show this season). Travis Wall put together a beautiful stage routine that didn’t wow the judges, but did have me in tears.
The dance of that night though belongs to the ballet boys Jim and Darion. SYTYCD doesn’t do ballet often, but when they do it’s excellent. Check out this routine, choreographed by Benoit Swan Pouffer.
