"Hat Trick" Makes an Honor Roll
I was deeply honored this week as True Colorz issued its review of Hat Trick and, at the same time, put the book on its Honor Roll. Seeing the emblem (showing at right) on the review page was amazing.
The True Colorz Honor Roll is filled with books that are near and dear to me. While I hoped Hat Trick would be well received, I didn’t imagine that it would be on a list with books from Alex Sanchez (the Rainbow trilogy, The God Box, Bait), David Levithan (Boy Meets Boy), Perry Moore (Hero), Bill Konigsberg (Openly Straight and Out of the Pocket), Martin Wilson (What They Always Tell Us), Jeff Erno (the Dumb Jock books), Sean Kennedy (Tigerland, Tigers and Devils), Nick Burd (The Vast Fields of Ordinary), Zarah Owens (You Can Choose Your Friends), and K. M. Soehnlein (The World of Normal Boys). There are some books on the Honor Roll that I need to check out too since there are one that I’m not familiar with.
While I was pulling the links together for the above paragraph and the reviews I posted earlier today, I made another discovery today that was another honor. On pages for both Two Boys Kissing and Openly Straight, I noticed that Hat Trick is listed as a book that “Customers who bought this item also bought…” With Two Boys Kissing it’s on page 2 of 15 of the “also bought…” but with Openly Straight it’s on the first page. Again, it’s so very cool to be connected in any way to these two books. I haven’t looked for what other books Hat Trick connects to in the same way, but knowing its connected to these two favorites really made my Sunday. I grabbed some screen shots too as historical evidence.
