Friday, July 29 (waking hours from 5am to 1:30am)

Favorite moment of the day: A few weeks ago, Barefoot Contessa made a roasted sausage and grapes dish which made my mouth water. I’m a sucker for a sausage recipe and I couldn’t quite wrap my head around what this combo could taste like. Will, who is not much of a fan of sausage recipes, surprised me with this dish for dinner. It was delicious. The grapes, mixed along with wine and balsamic vinegar completed both the hot and sweet sausages in a great way. I don’t expect to get this meal again since it was not Will’s thing, but it was awesome he made it for me and I’m very glad I got to try it.

Over the past several months I’ve been working with the Nerf team at Hasbro on a program for the Dart Tag World Championships, which will take place in Orlando in August. It’s been a blast, and it’s gotten me into Nerf. We’ve got some blasters in the office and we routinely have impromptu battles throughout the day. It can help break up any monotony that breaks out.

People who ride their bike against traffic are dangerous. I don’t comprehend why any cyclist thinks this is okay. It’s dangerous for them and dangerous for the cyclist they meet too since there’s only so much space available to travel safely in the street. I’d love to see police ticket this kind of behavior just like they would for a car.

Late hockey games on Friday are not nice. An 11:30 Boxers game made for an extremely long game. I did close my eyes for about an hour before I had to leave for the game, but having a day that lasts from 5am to nearly 2am is not something I like. Plus, the game turned into a really bad loss for the team. Our opponent overwhelmed us and we ended up one the wrong side of a 7-1 score.

Once again, I didn’t get out of the office long enough during the day. There were a lot of things that needed to be done and it was a trade off between not getting out and having work to do over the weekend (which there’s still a bit of, but at least it’s a small amount).
