East Side Story

Will -

OMG! A gay movie that dosen’t suck! I just watched East Side Story and I really liked it! It’s about a guy in East LA who feels trapped by his family obligations. He wants out, but falls for the gringo who has moved in next door. The movie covers some of the same issues brought up in [...]

DWTS Season 6, Week 10: The Finals

Jeff -

Hard to believe 10 weeks have gone by since the Dancing with the Stars season began. The finals brought mostly dazzling dance with a minimum of clunky performances.
Tonight the dancers did a cha-cha faceoff as well as a freestyle dance. Here’s my perception of the dancers from tonight:

Cristian & Cheryl: (Cha-cha) I particularly liked the [...]

Let’s Go Red Wings!

Jeff -

Success! The Detroit Red Wings won the Western Conference Finals last night by defeating Dallas by a solid score of 4-1. It took six games to do it, and Dallas took the beating in their home arena; but now the Red Wings are off to the Stanley Cup Finals for the first time since [...]

The Lost Weekend

Will -

Ok, we didn’t exactly go on an alcoholic bender like Ray Milland in The Lost Weekend, but Jeff and I spent an embarrassing amount of time (literally hours upon hours, damn you cable television and your weekend marathons!) with our asses firmly planted on the couch watching Ninja Warrior. This show is like crack or [...]

The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian

Jeff -

Week three of May Movie Mania brought The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian. The move is a worthy big screen follow up to The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe.
This film picks up a year after the kids came home from Narina and we catch up with them just as they are about to [...]

Let’s Go Penguins!

Jeff -

Maybe I jinxed my teams with my Wednesday post about sweeping the conference finals. Detroit and Pittsburgh failed to complete their series on Wednesday and Thursday. Detroit played game 5 yesterday and gave up a second game to Dallas (why, Detroit, why?!?)
This afternoon in the Eastern Conference game 5, Pittsburgh scored a definitive 6-0 win [...]

Ordinals Take Turkeys in OT

Jeff -

The Ordinals had a mixed game last night, but we ultimately overcame a three goal decficit to get our game against the Wild Turkeys tied up and then we made the game ours during the five minute overtime period.

Ninja Warrior! The New Obsession

Jeff -

American Gladiators returned this week with some cool new challenges, a new Eliminator course and new gladiators (including the two champions from last season). It was great watching the return and it will provide many weeks of Monday night entertainment.
We’ve got a new Gladiator-esque fascination called Ninja Warrior. It’s on G4 a lot (we tend [...]

Friday Geek Out: WarGames

Jeff -

After writing about the kooky computer movie Tron last week, I thought I’d go for the more thrilling computer movie WarGames this week. WarGames hit theaters in 1983, the summer after Tron. And what a difference a year makes.
Where Tron was an unrealistic look at computers; WarGames gave audiences a look at something that was [...]

California Supreme Court Overturns Same-Sex Marriage Ban

Jeff -

Breaking news from Towleroad…
California’s Supreme Court has overturned the state’s ban on same-sex marriage. Here’s a bit of the court’s opinion that was posted on Towleroad: “Furthermore, in contrast to earlier times, our state now recognizes that an individual’s capacity to establish a loving and long-term committed relationship with another person and responsibly to [...]
