Going to bed last night, we had a winter weather advisory posted from the National Weather Service. That basically means, “hey, it might snow or sleet in the next day or two.” Lately these advisories don’t mean much.

This morning its turned into a Winter Storm Warning, which means “significant amounts of snow… sleet… and ice are expected or occurring.”

Cool!

There was a couple inches on the ground when I initially made this post around 5:30 this morning. By 2pm it was done snowing and the storm warning was over and we had about 6 inches of snow on the ground. We may get a little bit more before the storm blows out completely tomorrow morning.

Here’s a look at the snow that was on the ground around 9 this morning in and around Bryant Park. Click on the thumbnails to see full-size images.
