The Ordinals had their best game ever against the Blizzard last night. It wasn’t a win, but we did manage an overtime loss, posting a 3-4 game. I was skeptical mid-second period that we’d even come that close. But, once the team settled a bit and started playing some fundamental hockey, we got two points on the board pretty quickly and then managed to tie it up within the last two minutes of the game. It was exciting! If we’d play the fundamentals of hockey all the time, we’d be so much better off.

I felt like I had a really good game last night too. I’d been feeling lately like my defensive play was just sucking big time, but last night felt good. I credit that to Adrian because we had a strategy talk pre-game and I think that helped to really focus me. It’s not often I get a strategy talk since I’m the captain, but I think it made a difference.

In a sign that makes me think I’m doing something right, I found out last night that Roman (who apparently is known as “the guy with the wavy hair”) was recruited by Hockey Hegemony to play in their summer league, which I’m guessing is their 4-on-4 team. Nice to know that I’ve got players that other teams want!
